A December Poem

Caffinated hibernation

Sparkle lights up corners

Candles flicker across horizontal surfaces

Layers of soft and piles of cozy

Turn the heat up two more degrees

Permission to sleep

Permission to not leave the house…or bed

Wild swings between chatty parties

and binging story on screens, small and large

Too. Much. Sugar. *shrug*

Slippers 50%

Boots 30%

Heels 20%

“Where did this year go?”

“What lies ahead?”

Finish line close

Next course just beyond the horizon

Yearly struggle: send Christmas cards or give myself a pass?
